  Job Responsibilities
  
  1. Develop new materials and improves existing materials used in products.
  2. Monitor the Quality of raw material and metal components being received and consumed.
  3. Use and maintain standard metallurgical equipment in the plant lab to verify compliance with specifications.
  4. Maintain knowledge of state -of- the-art in materials science research field.
  5. Procure experimental materials, equipment and processes for evaluation at the company.
  6. Analyze results of experiments, draws conclusions, and make recommendations to management.
  7. Communicate research efforts through interaction with peers, reporting, publication and oral presentation.
  8. Develop and maintain contacts with divisional staff and professional community.
  9. Provide technical assistance to plant manufacturing and service organizations.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  Requirements
  
  1. Four-year degree with a major in Metallurgy. Masters degree is a plus.
  2. Thorough knowledge of materials, substances and characteristics.
  3. High level of analytical ability where problems are somewhat complex.
  4. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  5. Oral and written communication skills.
